You’ll feel at ease at our place — where the food and the ambiance will reenergize and awaken your senses and your palate to the wonderful flavors of Italia. Let's Do Lunch! The menu of Il Posto captures the Italian spirit of making every meal a special occasion. Il Posto offers an imaginative selection of authentic and contemporary Italian specialties. Its dishes are prepared using only the finest and the freshest ingredients from traditional and contemporary family Italian recipes. Il Posto is "The Place" where guests will visit for fine Italian cuisine — where the presentation of each dish is art and where the tastes of each dish are 'perfectly married' to bring out the amazing flavors of Italia. Every dish has its own personality. It is not enough to just go out for lunch anymore — at Il Posto guests come to dine in a warm, happy and inviting place where they feel right at home from the moment they enter the restaurant's living room. Il Posto’s guests are brought fresh bread, accompanied by Fasulo's popular homemade salsa verde in garlic and olive oil to tease the palate and the appetite of what is yet to come from the kitchen. Il Posto provides guests with the highest quality Italian dishes — simply yet elegantly prepared — featuring the freshest ingredients, making everything from scratch and taking full advantage of the abundance of unique products that California’s rich soils have to offer. Additionally, many products are directly flown in from Italy including Prosciutto di Parma (from the countryside of Parma) and 30 year old aged Balsamic vinegar, to many of the honored wines and imported delicacies that can only be found in Italy. Dining at Il Posto, guests experience true Cibo Italiano (Italian food). Il Posto creates exciting dishes. Contemporary and intimate, the experience is always simply Italian. More importantly, it continues to be under the direct management of proprietari Leonardo and Mina Fasulo, owners of Osteria Fasulo in Davis. Leonardo — having been raised in Northern Italy — certainly knows his way around the kitchen, the dining room and the wine cellar quite well. Leonardo Fasulo and wife Mina — whose love and passion for good food, good wine and good friends — plays a major role in ensuring the success of Il Posto, just as they have with their first upscale and elegant family restaurant Osteria Fasulo in Davis (www.osteriafasulo.com). Finally, to best understand the Fasulo’s philosophy about life and food, one must also understand their philosophy about wine (found as the introduction to their Wine menu) entitled, Philosophy on the Rocks.
