It seems that Spring has arrived, at least for a little while and we're excited to announce that by popular demand, Il Posto is Now Open for Dinner! Il Posto has added dinner service to its hours. Lunch continues to be served from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday and Dinner will be served from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Monday through Saturday evenings we'll be closed Sundays because that is our special famiglia time to be together. _______________________________ SPRING APPEARS TO BE ARRIVING! The warm sun is shining, the winter chill is definitely disappearing despite what the groundhog from the East Coast predicted about six more weeks of Winter. The season has definitely changed from cool to warmer temperatures and it's beautiful, as we bid Ciao to Winter and welcome the Spring season. The Secret's Out The Fasulo famiglia arrived in downtown Sacramento when it officially opened Il Posto (Italian for "The Place") for lunch in October 2005. The new restaurant located around the corner from the State Capitol boasts three distinct dining areas, all appropos to the capitol scene: The Governor's Dining Room The Legislators Loft The Lobbyists Corner and we also have the Capitol Lounge for simply "relaxing" with a nice glass of Italian vino. The Fasulos commissioned Kerry Macklin of Macklin Designs to design the artistic portraits of the members of the Senate, Assembly and Constitutional Officers who are prominently displayed throughout the dining areas. Upstairs, California's past 37 Governors are beautifully displayed and honored in the more private and intimate Governor's Dining Room (for more on that story, scroll below). ________________________ Il Posto Politically Hip with an Amazing Italian Menu If you haven't visited Il Posto yet, you'll be in for quite a surprise because it is without a doubt the most "politically hip" restaurant in the downtown Sacramento area. Appropo for the State Capitol of course. Owners, Leonardo and Mina Fasulo have designed the first of its kind in Calfornia and in the country a very "mod and artsy" new Italian restaurant (that boasts an amazing menu) and prominently displays an artistic gallery of California's elected officials (representing the State's Constitutional Officers, Senate and Assembly). But there's more... ____________________________ The "Governor's Dining Room" The most frequently requested dining area is definitely the "Governor's Dining Room" where guests will find the official portraits of all 37 past Governors of California. The very same portraits that grace the halls of the State Capitol. Ours is an exquisite dining room and truly serves to honor our distinguished public servants of the State's Executive Office dating back to 1849. The State of California Department of General Services is entrusted with the intellectual rights to the images of the Governor's Portraits that are on display throughout the halls of the State Capitol. Mr. & Mrs. Leonardo Fasulo of Fasulo, Inc., were granted special permission and the authority to display the official portraits of California's governors at Il Posto Simply Italian Ristorante in Sacramento, California. Il Posto restaurant is the first of its kind in the country, as well as the state to honor and prominently display California's governors in a private and exclusive dining room "The Governor's Dining Room." _____________________________________________ HONORING CALIFORNIAS STATE ELECTED OFFICIALS Mr. and Mrs. Leonardo and Mina Fasulo are honored to display the artistic and creative portraits of California's elected statewide leaders currently serving in the Senate, Assembly and State Constitutional Offices. The official photographs of each member on display throughout our dining rooms were personally provided to Fasulo, Inc., for our sole use. Fasulo, Inc., commissioned one of the most talented graphic designers in Sacramento Kerry Macklin of Macklin Designs to create the artistic and artsy portraits that are now prominently displayed throughout Il Posto's dining rooms. ____________________________ WHY SACRAMENTO? Because Sacramento is our State's Capitol! Sacramento IS Il Posto that is to say, Sacramento is "The Place." Many of our Osteria Fasulo guests of Davis who live and/or work near the State Capitol asked us when we were coming to Sacramento. So.... we jumped in with both feet and eyes wide open while we planned and prepared for Il Posto. We're delighted to finally announce that we opened our doors on October 21st in downtown Sacramento only a hop, skip and a jump away from the State Capitol at 1015 - 9th Street between J & K. We're introducing our Sacramento friends and neighbors to something that our Davis guests have known since we opened Osteria Fasulo in 2003 on Portage Bay we're the place where you'll find a truly authentic and inventive Italian menu because Proprietorio, Leonardo Fasulo attends to every detail in the execution of every dish when he develops & designs the menu each season with his chefs. IL POSTO just like Osteria Fasulo will be the kind of place where Leonardo and wife, Mina Fasulo simplify haute cuisine without compromise because we want to make sure that our guests appreciate the freshness of each of our dishes. We understand that a meal is only as good as its raw & fresh ingredients. We use only the finest ingredients in everything we prepare. Only the finest and the highest in quality it is really what sets us apart from the rest. And now, we'll be introducing that concept at IL POSTO. We have a simple philosophy: Our food is not an art that consists of dressing up the dish to the point where it is unrecognizable but an art whose design is to reflect the truth and simplicity of each dish. We don't try to be "all things to all people." At Osteria Fasulo, it's simply Italian and IL POSTO will be that as well. It will be simply Italian, it will be "The Place to Be!"
